The Art of Innovation is about IDEO and their keys to their successful business. One key point made in the book is designing for the consumer. Instead of trying to change the consumer's habit, they believe that "the best products embrace people's differences" and "celebrate human behavior." Are there any companies that you believe exhibit this same ideal, or any specific products that "celebrate human behavior" instead of attempting to modify it?
There were some examples that were in the book, Art of Innovation, of products that except human habit and behavior. One product that I liked was a solution to a messy desk space. Instead of trying to incorporate more cabinets or drawers into the desk, IDEO focused on human behaviors and accepted them. The IDEO team noticed that most people stack their papers and files so they made something that they call “a desk on top of the desk”. They wanted to let people continue to do what is human nature, just make it as organized as possible. I like how the idea of building a product to fit for the consumer is such an important thing to IDEO.
